Whilst samten is based on the basic principles of Buddhist thought and is co-founded by a practising Buddhist monk, it is open to everyone from all walks and ways of life.
It is non-religious, non-judgemental and non-descriptive.
You are not required to believe in any god in order to benefit from samten.
Instead, you learn to honour yourself, others and the world around you in order to build the sense of compassion, understanding and gratitude that will help you discover genuine, lasting happiness.
In teaching the benefits of meditation and mindfulness, samten can benefit and unite people across the globe. It increases creativity, reduces stress, improves mental focus, helps us to decode and deal with our addictions and teaches us to understand that we are not alone in our journey. We learn to appreciate every moment for the possibility it contains and to always look for the positive.
"Human beings thrive when we feel part of a bigger whole. The moment we realise that we are part of the air we breathe and the earth we stand on is a breakthrough that creates a spontaneous wave of compassion and respect for all living beings and the natural world that sustains us."
- Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche
