"We all have a natural capacity to feel connected. We see this in children and how they respond to others."

- Gelong Thubten

It is never too early to learn the benefits of meditation and mindfulness - a fact supported by the integration of mindfulness in schools across the UK and beyond.

When we foster the feelings of recognition, gratitude and understanding from a young age, we learn to connect with others through compassion. As His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama famously proclaimed, "If every eight year old in the world is taught meditation, we will eliminate violence from the world in one generation."

samten fully supports this belief and from it very beginnings has offered a samten junior section on the app. This will remain free and users are encouraged to work with their children to help them begin the process as soon as they can. When we understand that we are all seeking the same level of happiness and freedom from suffering and we equip ourselves with the tools to achieve this, the world will become a more caring and compassionate place.

In additon to personal use, samten is also working with the Welsh government to make the app free to schools.

However, whilst it is never to early to learn the benefits, it is important to remember that it is also never too late in life to benefit from samten.

Both our founders, Gelong Thubten and Jamie Watkins came to the practise later in life. Users across the globe range from children to adults of all ages.

The key thing for everyone to understand is that meditation is a journey. It requires consistency, practise and commitment. It is a lifelong way of life, not a short term fix. It is not about emptying the mind for short periods of time, it is about learning to fill the mind with peace, joy and fulfilment as often as we possibly can.
